Wanderlust, The Unlimited Collection managed by The Ascott Limited Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Wanderlust, The Unlimited Collection managed by The Ascott Limited, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical four-star hotel. The lobby has this eclectic, almost gallery-like feel that perfectly captures the creative energy of Little India. I mean, the name says it all — there’s definitely a curated, artistic vibe here that feels refreshingly different from the standard business hotels you’ll find elsewhere in Singapore. The design philosophy extends throughout the property, creating an immersive experience that celebrates local culture and contemporary aesthetics in equal measure.

Location & Neighborhood

Honestly, the location on Dickson Road is pretty brilliant. You’re right in the heart of Little India, which means you can step outside and immediately dive into one of Singapore’s most vibrant neighborhoods. The temples, spice shops, and that incredible aroma of curry that seems to float through the streets — it’s all right there. What I really appreciate is that couples seem to get it too (they rate the location 8.6), probably because there’s something romantic about wandering these colorful streets together, especially in the evening when everything’s lit up. The neighborhood offers an authentic slice of Singapore that few other hotel locations can match.

The Room Experience

Here’s what surprised me most — the beds are genuinely fantastic. I know that sounds like something every hotel claims, but guests consistently rave about the sleep quality here, and after spending a few nights, I totally get why. The room design strikes this interesting balance between modern comfort and artistic flair. You’ll find thoughtful touches that reflect the local culture without feeling forced or touristy. The space feels more like a well-designed urban apartment than a standard hotel room, with amenities that cater to both leisure and extended-stay guests.

Dining & Local Access

While the hotel has its own dining options, you’d be crazy not to explore the incredible food scene literally at your doorstep. Some of Singapore’s best Indian cuisine is within a two-minute walk — I’m talking about places where locals actually eat, not just tourist spots. The hotel staff actually knows their stuff when it comes to recommendations, which isn’t always the case. They’ll point you toward that perfect restaurant for whatever you’re craving, whether it’s authentic South Indian breakfast or late-night biryani. The culinary landscape surrounding the property is truly exceptional.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it manages to feel both sophisticated and authentic. You’re getting quality accommodations (that 8.8 rating isn’t accidental) while being immersed in one of Singapore’s most culturally rich areas. It’s not trying to shield you from the local experience — instead, it enhances it. The recent guest ratings for location speak volumes, and honestly, once you experience the energy of Little India combined with genuinely comfortable accommodations, you’ll understand why people keep coming back. It’s that rare hotel that actually adds to your destination experience rather than just providing a place to sleep.

Reviews of Wanderlust, The Unlimited Collection managed by The Ascott Limited

  • Great location, excellent value and very comfortable, highly recommended. – Graham from New Zealand (9/10)

Everything. This is a great property in a great location. Excellent value for money. Rooms have everything you need plus extras we didn't expect. In room safe, iron and board. Very quiet, very comfortable bed. Staff were most welcoming and helpful. It is 2 minutes walk from the subway and 10 minutes stroll to all kinds of shopping. Little India dining and experiences right on the doorstep.

  • Convenient Location for Exploring Little India – Sylvie from United States of America (9/10)

Clean building, front desk staffed 24/7 knowledgeable and friendly. The room had all necessary amenities. In addition free laundry and a nice dipping pool on the same floor.
If you’re looking to experience Little India, this is a convenient location. Also very near MRT station.

  • Best value for money and convenient location hotel in Singapore! – Thuy from Australia (9/10)

Hotel was clean, modern and utilised the space so well. Being close to a MRT station, Wanderlust proved the perfect base for the F1.
The room was very well maintained and cleaned by housekeeping, the water filter and little kitchenette was so useful as we didn’t have to buy water or boil it. Room was very intuitive with lots of nooks and crannies for storage.
One of the best parts was the free laundry room! The washers and dryers are the best ones I’ve used yet – large, efficient and properly washed and dried your clothes!

Reception and housekeeping were super friendly and absolute stars, doing their job always with a smile!

I won’t hesitate to book here again next time I’m in Singapore!

  • Wonderful – Lisa from Switzerland (9/10)

Compact Studio with excellent use of available space. Free drinking water refill. Closely situated to MRT, restaurants and hawker stores. Friendly and helpful staff.

  • No complaints – Thomas from New Zealand (8/10)

The cleanliness and facilities which were included

  • Wonderful – Claire from United Kingdom (9/10)

The room was really clean, and even though it was small there were plenty of storage shelves under the bed. We were right next to the laundry room, but the sound insulation is good so we didn't hear the machines, plus it was so convenient being able to pop next door and put a load of washing in, and then make hot drinks at the tea/coffee machine in the corridor. Bring extra hangers as it's sometimes easier to hang up damp washing than wait for the tumble dryers.
The hotel is very convenient for the MRT, and to get back to the airport it was so easy to get on at Jalan Besar, all the way up to Expo and then it's just one quick change to get to Changi. If I knew how easy it was I wouldn't have booked a taxi transfer when we first arrived.

  • Wonderful – S from Germany (9/10)

Nice Hotel, very clean and cozy.

  • A great place in the hustle and bustle for an overnight stay – Paul from New Zealand (8/10)

The room was super clean. The bathroom was brilliant. The staff were great also and it was a lovely quiet room.

  • Very comfortable and clean hotel. Surrounding area a bit dirty. – Patra from United Kingdom (8/10)

Very nice staff. Shoutout to Dickson for getting us a cab at the very last minute. Very clean. Very comfy bed.

  • Restful and welcoming 'home away from home' in a fascinating and convenient location. – Robyn from New Zealand (9/10)

A warm welcome from reception staff from the first moment we stepped through the door made us feel truly 'at home' in this lovely boutique hotel, housed in a sensitively restored heritage building. Arriving on an early flight, we were happy to be able to leave our luggage at reception before check-in while we explored the friendly, multicultural neighborhood. Our quiet room with double glazed windows and efficient air conditioning was ready early, so we were given an early check-in, which we really appreciated. Our room was larger and better equipped than others we've stayed in in Singapore. It was cleverly designed and super-comfortable, with everything for our comfort; even including an emergency torch discreetly clipped beside the door, in case of need. Our small kitchen with induction hotplate , kettle, cooking utensils, fridge, and more gave us the option of eating in as well as out. During our stay, we gladly availed ourselves of the excellent free guest laundry facility with washing machines and dryers on Level 2, along with the iron and small ironing board in our room. We appreciated using the excellent coffee machine and the fresh drinking water station, where guests can re-fill the glass bottles provided. The rooftop dipping pool with its pleasant leafy surroundings was serene and relaxing; the perfect place to unwind after a busy day. The hotel's clear focus on reducing negative environmental impacts was demonstrated in many practical ways. The friendly tone and gentle humor of the guest information signs appealed to us. The excellent halal restaurant on the ground floor caters for both internal and external guests, showcasing local produce beautifully. We enjoyed the delicious flavours and beautiful presentation of this cuisine. Being allergic to gluten, I greatly appreciated the advice and extra care taken by the chef and restaurant staff to ensure that my meal experiences were safe and enjoyable.
