The Robertson House managed by The Ascott Limited Overview
First Impressions
Walking into The Robertson House managed by The Ascott Limited, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical Singapore hotel. The five-star property sits right on Unity Street in Robertson Quay, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. There’s something refreshingly understated about the entrance — it feels more like stepping into an elegant residence than a commercial hotel, which I suppose is exactly the point.
Location & Neighborhood
Robertson Quay is genuinely one of Singapore’s best-kept secrets for travelers who want to be central without the chaos of Orchard Road. You’re literally steps from the Singapore River, and the whole area has this relaxed, almost European vibe with its converted shophouses and riverside dining. What I love is how walkable everything is — Clarke Quay’s nightlife is a pleasant stroll away, and you can easily reach the CBD or Marina Bay on foot if you don’t mind a bit of exercise. The couples who stay here clearly get it, rating the location 9.1 out of 10, and I can see why.
The Accommodation Experience
The rooms here feel more like luxury apartments than hotel suites, which makes sense given Ascott’s serviced residence expertise. You’ll find proper kitchenettes in most units, which is brilliant if you want to grab fresh ingredients from the nearby markets or simply store some drinks. The space feels generous by Singapore standards, and the design strikes that perfect balance between contemporary comfort and local character. I mean, when you’re paying five-star rates in Singapore, you want to feel like you’re getting proper value, and the room sizes here deliver on that front.
Dining & Amenities
The breakfast setup is quite solid — they do both American and buffet options, so whether you want a quick continental spread or a full cooked meal, you’re sorted. What really impressed me was the private parking, which might not sound exciting until you realize how rare and expensive parking is in central Singapore. It’s one of those details that shows they actually understand what travelers need. The fact that they have so many repeat guests tells you something too — people clearly feel comfortable enough to come back, which speaks volumes about the service consistency.
Why Guests Love It
There’s a reason this place scores 8.4 overall and sits in what’s rated as the best area in Singapore. It’s that rare combination of luxury amenities with a genuinely livable feel — you’re not just staying somewhere, you’re actually settling in for a bit. The Robertson Quay location gives you easy access to Singapore’s highlights without feeling like you’re camping out in a tourist zone. Plus, the repeat guest factor suggests they’ve figured out how to make people feel at home, which is harder to achieve than you might think in a city where hotels can feel pretty impersonal.
The concierge service in Singapore curates rooftop yacht parties, private hawker feasts, and behind-the-scenes garden tours.

Great central location for sightseeing but quiet location. – Anne from United Kingdom (9/10)
The location was excellent, but not right in the busy hustle and bustle of Clarkes Quay, yet only a 5 minute walk away along the river. Situated in quieter side street with good access to bus and metro stations.
Good service and good quality. Great breakfast options. Lovely swimming pool to cool off in.Comfortable layover – Irene from Australia (9/10)

Very nice hotel, not too big. Well located on the singapore river and close to Fort Canning park, metro station, downtown and chinatown. The view of our room was just superb and outstanding! Despite this, the breakfast was very good and with various different options.

I liked the proximity to a wide selection of F&B outlets, and supermarket is just across the street. I appreciated the $20 F&B voucher, although I did not use it. Breakfast was great, too.
