The Fullerton Hotel Singapore Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, you can’t help but feel like you’re stepping into something special. This five-star heritage building — it’s actually the old General Post Office from 1928 — sits right at the edge of Marina Bay with this incredible neoclassical facade that honestly makes you pause for photos before you even get inside. The moment you enter the lobby, there’s this perfect balance of old-world grandeur and modern luxury that feels authentically Singaporean rather than generic international hotel.

Prime Marina Bay Position

The location here is absolutely unbeatable, and I mean that — couples consistently rate it 9.8 out of 10, which makes total sense when you see where you are. You’re literally steps from the Merlion, Marina Bay Sands is right across the water, and the entire CBD spreads out around you. What I love is that you can walk to Boat Quay’s buzzing restaurant scene in about three minutes, or stroll along the waterfront promenade whenever you want. The hotel sits at this perfect intersection where Singapore‘s financial district meets its tourist heart, so you get the best of both worlds without feeling stuck in either.

The Room Experience

The rooms here are something else — and trust me, the beds live up to all that praise about comfort. I’m talking about proper luxury linens and mattresses that actually make you want to sleep in (which is saying something in a city with this much to see). Each room maintains those beautiful heritage details like high ceilings and large windows, but everything’s been updated with modern amenities that actually work. The marble bathrooms feel indulgent without being over the top, and if you get a Marina Bay view… well, let’s just say watching the city light up at night from your window never gets old.

Dining and Amenities

Breakfast here is this wonderful spread — they do both continental and buffet options, so whether you want something light or you’re planning to fuel up for a full day of exploring, you’re covered. The restaurant spaces throughout the hotel maintain that elegant colonial feel, and honestly, the service feels genuinely warm rather than just professionally polite. There’s parking available right at the hotel too, which might not sound exciting but trust me, in this part of Singapore, that’s a real convenience. The spa treatments use local ingredients and techniques that feel connected to where you are, not just imported luxury.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it manages to feel both grand and welcoming at the same time. You’re staying in a piece of Singapore’s history, but it doesn’t feel like a museum — it feels alive and current. The staff genuinely knows the area and can point you toward hidden gems, not just the obvious tourist spots. And that location score of 9.8? It’s earned every decimal point. Whether you’re here for business meetings in the financial district or you want to explore Singapore’s incredible food scene and cultural attractions, everything feels accessible from here.

  • A Plush and Pleasant Stay at the Fullerton Hotel – Caron from United States of America (9/10)

We opted for a room without a bay view and didn't regret it. Our room faced the lobby but electrically operated shades granted perfect privacy at night and we could leave them open for plenty of daylight from the atrium otherwise. Nor did we hear any significant noise from the lobby below (we were on the second floor). The room was spacious, well appointed and appealing. The hotel provides sterilized individual glass water bottles and a tap for filtered water in the bathroom: no plastic bottles clogging the landfills! A big shower and a huge tub plus plenty of counter space made sharing the bathroom no problem at all. The breakfast was incredible: so many options we couldn't possibly choose more than a small percentage in four days! We dined in the room on two nights because we were tired and the service was quick and friendly and the food very good indeed. And the location is unbeatable. You can walk to the bay front in five minutes, to the famous Merlion statue in ten minutes, andross the historic Cavenagh Bridge (just by the hotel) to the Asian Civilizations Museum in three minutes, and reasonably priced taxis are summoned for you in a twinkling of an eye. Staff members, especially the concierge team, went out of their way to make our stay more pleasant, booking our return transportation to the airport well in advance and giving us advice on what to see. Check-in and check-out were quick and painless. And to top it all off, the Fullerton is housed in the landmark 1928 central post office building. We would go there again in a heartbeat.

  • Exceptional – Kazllo from New Zealand (9/10)

Wow this hotel is just lovely! True luxury to start and finish our 7 week trip to the UK and Europe and back with a stopover each way.
The staff were so lovely and couldn't be more helpful.
The buffet breakfast is amazing! The best one of our whole trip.
The rooms we had were huge (especially now we can compare to Europe)
Would definitely stay again if we wanted top notch accommodation.

  • Exceptional – Gaurav from Australia (9/10)

Absolutely Fantastic! Great location just walking distance to Merlion and Boat Quay. Rooms are great size and very comfy beds. Breakfast is awesome with ample options. Loved the place.

  • We had 48 hours in Singapore and the central location was perfect. – Madeleine from New Zealand (8/10)

The location is the best, at the centre of Singapore. The area is amazing, we only had 48 hours in Singapore so wanted to be in walking distance of key sites. The staff are all so lovely. The pool is great, not overcrowded. Breakfast choice is incredible, every option available. We had a late check out which was much appreciated. We used our room credit for drinks at the Fullerton Bay (lots of options for using the credit).

  • It truly felt like we were on our honeymoon. Upgraded us to a better room which was very nice. Enjoyed our stay. All the – Hallikainen from Canada (9/10)
