Hotel Clover The Arts Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel Clover The Arts on South Bridge Road, you immediately get the sense this isn’t your typical chain hotel. The building itself has character — it’s nestled right in the heart of Singapore’s historic Boat Quay district, and honestly, the location alone makes this three-star property punch above its weight. I mean, you’re literally steps away from the Singapore River and all the buzz of Clarke Quay, which is pretty incredible for a mid-range hotel.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re in this perfect sweet spot where old Singapore meets the modern city. Boat Quay has this amazing mix of traditional shophouses turned into bars and restaurants, and you can actually walk to Raffles Place in about ten minutes if you need to be in the financial district. The couples who stay here seem to really get it too, which makes sense because there’s something romantic about wandering these historic streets together. You know what’s great? You can grab coffee at a local kopitiam in the morning, then be at Marina Bay Sands by evening without breaking a sweat.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed — and I actually appreciated how they maximized the space without making it feel cramped. The Arts theme isn’t just marketing speak either; there’s genuine local artwork on the walls that gives each space some personality. Sure, it’s not huge, but honestly, when you’re in Singapore, you’re probably not spending much time in your room anyway. The air conditioning works like a dream (crucial in this climate), and the bed was surprisingly comfortable for what you’re paying.
Practical Perks
What really sold me on this place was how easy everything felt. There’s no fussy check-in process, the staff actually knows the neighborhood well enough to give you real recommendations, and the whole vibe is just… relaxed. I noticed they don’t have a full restaurant, but honestly, that’s not a problem when you’ve got hawker centers and amazing local eateries literally around the corner. The Lau Pa Sat hawker center is maybe a seven-minute walk, and trust me, that’s where you want to be eating anyway.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t a place that’s trying to be something it’s not — and that’s exactly why it works so well. You’re getting an authentic Singapore experience in one of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods, without paying Marina Bay prices. The location score speaks for itself, and after staying here, I totally get why couples rate it so highly. There’s something special about being able to walk along the river at sunset, then pop into a rooftop bar, all within a few blocks of your hotel. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re actually experiencing Singapore, not just visiting it.
Savvy travelers reserve a hotel in Singapore before art biennales and tech expos fill the city with VIP guests.

the room was clean and small but it was enough for me because I only used it for sleep at night and I was away the whole day. the location is also good, near MRT station and bus stop. the staffs are nice as well.
Affordable stay, brilliant location – Agnieszka from United Kingdom (7/10)
Firstly the location was very good. Close to Chinatown and also a walking distance to the Marina.
Not having a window forces you to use the air conditioning at all times and I felt like it affected my breathing.

Well worth the money and really close to Chinatown and transport. – Phil from Australia (8/10)
From the very start of our stay, including booking everything was great. The initial contact I had with the hotel was prompt and concise. When we got to the hotel at 10.00 pm the reception lady was really friendly and helpful. She was able to fix up our wifi issue straight away. The room was comfy and the bed was great. We thought that they room was very good. It was smallish but it still had enough room for three adults. I noticed that quite a number of reviews commenting on the size of the room…..They should stay in Europe!! The shower pressure was great and made our day after walking around Singapore. The AC was cool and it wasn't noisy.
