Dash Living on Mackenzie Overview

First Impressions

Dash Living on Mackenzie sits right in the heart of Selegie, and honestly, the location alone makes this three-star place worth considering. I mean, you’re literally steps away from some of Singapore’s most interesting neighborhoods — Little India’s spice-scented streets are practically next door, and the buzzing Bugis area is just a quick walk away. The building itself has that modern serviced apartment vibe, clean lines and all that, but what really caught my attention was how couples seem to gravitate toward this spot. The property offers excellent value for travelers seeking authentic local experiences without sacrificing comfort or convenience.

The Space

The room I stayed in was actually more spacious than I expected for Singapore standards. You know what’s nice? They’ve got proper storage space — not just those tiny hotel wardrobes that can barely fit a weekend bag. The kitchenette setup is pretty practical too, with a decent-sized fridge and enough counter space to actually prepare something more substantial than instant noodles. The bed was comfortable enough, and the air conditioning works like a dream (which, let’s be honest, is non-negotiable in Singapore’s climate). The thoughtful design makes extended stays feel particularly welcoming.

Location Perks

Here’s where Dash Living really shines — the neighborhood is absolutely fantastic for exploring. Rochor Centre with its colorful facade is right there, and if you’re into local food, the hawker stalls around Bugis Street are maybe a five-minute walk. I found myself wandering to Little India for dinner most nights because the authentic South Indian places there are incredible. Plus, Bugis MRT station is close enough that getting anywhere else in the city is pretty straightforward. The surrounding area offers endless dining and shopping options within walking distance.

Practical Stuff

The building has decent Wi-Fi throughout, and there’s a small gym if you need to work off all that laksa and chicken rice. Parking can be arranged, though honestly, you probably won’t need a car given how well-connected everything is by public transport. The staff are helpful without being overly formal — they’ll give you solid recommendations for local spots that tourists usually miss. One thing I appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, despite being in such a central area. These practical amenities combine to create a genuinely comfortable stay.

Why Guests Love It

What makes this place special isn’t fancy amenities or over-the-top service — it’s that sweet spot between location, comfort, and value. Couples particularly seem to love it here, probably because you get that local neighborhood feel while still being close to major attractions. You can grab breakfast at a nearby kopitiam, spend the day exploring different districts, and come back to a comfortable space that actually feels like a temporary home rather than just another hotel room. For the price point and that prime Selegie location, it’s honestly hard to beat.

To book a hotel in Singapore during Marina Bay fireworks, visitors plan ahead to balance hawker feasts with skyline cruises.

  • Perfect long stay location for super ex SG – Marianne from France (8/10)

Excellent location, only 2 min walk from Little India MRT(exit A). Basically 15-20 min commute to central areas in SG. Room was clean and comfy, excellent bedding and aircon. Rooftop terrace was nice to unwind at night. The cafe, Old Chang Kee, just opposite the hotel provided great local food. I stayed for 14 nights, and found it really value for money, unbeatable price point. The person in charge of cleaning the rooms, Mr Liang, was wonderful- so friendly and accommodating.
