What couples particularly love (and I get why they rated it so highly) is that you’re perfectly positioned between the heritage shophouses and modern Singapore — Clarke Quay is a pleasant stroll away, and the MRT connections make the rest of the city incredibly accessible. The parking situation is sorted too, which honestly saves you a headache in this part of town.

The Room Experience

The room itself lives up to the five-star billing without being ostentatious about it. The beds are genuinely exceptional — and I’m someone who usually struggles with hotel mattresses — but these are the kind you actually want to linger in come morning. The design strikes this perfect balance between contemporary comfort and subtle nods to the neighborhood’s heritage. Actually, the attention to detail in the linens and pillows makes you understand why guests specifically mention the sleep quality in their reviews.

Dining and Amenities

Breakfast here is properly done — the American and buffet options mean you’re not stuck with just one style, and the quality is consistently good rather than just abundant. The restaurant doesn’t try to be everything to everyone, which I appreciate; instead, it focuses on doing a smaller menu really well.   Hotel has a luxurious feel and was a great way to finish a 4 week European holiday. In a great location near Chinatown and Marina Bay. Pool area was peaceful and easy to get a sun lounge. Rooms were spacious and well appointed. Had a great city view from L23. Amazing breakfast buffet with a wide range of options.
  
  All staff were welcoming and helpful. The Concierge (especially Loges) made great recommendations for local restaurants and visiting attractions such as Marina Bay Sands and Sentosa Island.
  
  Overall, it was a fabulous couple of days and we will be staying at the Carlton City the next time we are in Singapore.
